Many elite riders choose to ride tubulars, which is a great choice if you have knowledge on gluing tires to your rims, but for the rest of us that want the ride quality of tubs without the mess then a tubeless wheelset is our answer.
Shimano's Ultegra tubeless wheelsets allow the use of tubeless clincher tires which provide lower rolling resistance (like tubulars) and a much better ride quality. Not to mention there is no hassle of gluing these to the rim as the mounting is quite similar to that of a standard clincher.
The wheelset has a claimed weight of 1652 grams (695g front/ 957g rear)
